Will these heads work/fit?

TFS-30400001-M64 I like these heads alot and am thinking of putting them on my l98. Just wondering if they would fit. Mine is an 89 with center bolt style valve covers. These are perimeter bolt. I don't see that being a problem since I could just buy new valve covers, probably going to have to since I am upgrading to 1.6 RR's. Any info on these is greatly appreciated. By the way I am using an original older casting of the Accel manifold base.

Re: Will these heads work/fit?

This is what I found on Summit's page:
Notes: Will not fit centerbolt-style intake manifolds
Not at all an accurate statement (I really wish these aftermarket companies and retailers would get on the ball about this minor change) but what they mean is that the heads are the old style intake bolt pattern with all 12 intake-head bolts at the same angle. If your base is machined for both already (it may be, you will have to look) then you will be fine using them.

Are you sure they dont have a centerbolt version? Usually there is one. Not that there is any benefit, but some people prefer one or the other.

Re: Will these heads work/fit?

Hey, how can I tell if my old Accel casting manifold is drilled for both types of bolt patterns? Anyone have one they have tried?

Re: Will these heads work/fit?

Just look at the center 4 bolts on the intake. If there is a slot instead of just a hole there, its drilled for both.

Re: Will these heads work/fit?

Wow, LOL, thanks man. That was the easy! Yes, the center four bolt holes are slots, they look like two holes kind of hooked together. Well, if anyone else needs this info, YES Accel's old casting hi flow bases are predrilled for both bolt patterns.
