385 fast burn questions about cam.....
Ok the deal is that I bought this 385 fast burn from a friend that got it brand new. So I have been working on this engine for a while now and i'm not sure on what kind of cam is in the block. I was told it had the hot cam in it but when I took the valve covers off the rockers are not roller. I mean its possible to not change the rockers when you change the cam but I was lookin up cam specs and even without 1.6rockers the cam has .495 or something lift and 112degree lobe separation. But my car doesnt lope that hard......I know lots of people with smaller cams then that with a much heavier lope. I wonder if it is because my engine has roller lifters? I also have problems with my carb loading up a bit so I wonder if that is because of the lope of the hot cam.....if I even have it. Im just trying to figure out what cam I have without the use of major equipment. But went on youtube to listen to other cars with that cam and they so8und similar to my car and none of them really have massive lope. Is that mostly because of the roller lifters? Because most flat lifter cams with a .495 lift with lobe seperation of 112 beat the ground pretty hard.

The FB385 crate engine uses the same cam as the ZZ4. If you switch to the HOT cam, you should get close to 430 horses.
