454 blew up

Hi,
new guy here, I have a 94 class A motorhome that has a gen5 454 in it w/ 80k on it. It has been making valvetrain/lifter noise. Anyway, I was revving it a bit to see if the lifters would settle down after I added a little sea foam and blam! Lots of mettalic noise and it stopped dead. It wont even turn over. My family camping plans just changed! I pulled the valve cover and nothing looks messed up. Went to drain the oil and coolant came out w/ it and kept draining the radiator out thru the oil pan plug. I am ready to tear into it (expecting the worst) but just wondered what could have happened. Where is the coolant getting into the oil? At least it's in my driveway.

Re: 454 blew up

Yank the engine and throw it away or use it for a core return on a replacement engine. The Gen V is a boat anchor anyway.

Re: 454 blew up

Sorry, but this site is dedicated to the 1982-1992 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird. The discussion about the 454, which was not an option on the aforementioned vehicles, as well as a motor home, does not exactly fit our website.

Sorry.
