87 5.0 T5 Center console/tranny Vibration Issue
I have a weird vibration going on,,When i increase speed to shift from 4th to 5th..The console/shifter vibrates..If i'm in 5th at 45MPH and up,,and if i take foot off the pedal..(Hills/Corners)There is a one and half second lap time before the throttle actually is backed all the way off. Before the idle is all the way down.In between that time the console/trans shifter vibrates bad.Same as if i just barely get back into the pedal to speed up.It does do it while im in the pedal at cruising, but when i'm off gas,it doesn't.Except as i mentioned in between that time frame..The only thing i've done is replace the u-joints..It's so annoying..Any ideas?? Thank You..

Like bad compression?? The motor seems fine,,but maybe not..I putting a 5.7 in it this spring,,but guess i will have to deal with it til then. When i do, i will check the tranny mounts..Thanks for the info.

The high speed idle solonoid is activated until the VSS senses speed below 35mph. It is iritating but I don't know of any way to bypass it without removing the computer completely. As for the vibration , I agree with the post above , check motor mounts, tranny mount and torque arm mount.
