black smoke

i have a 91 rs with a 3.1 . i had a oil leak and when we changed trannies we found it was a seal on the back side of the cam? thats the olny thing we could think of what it was. never seen a seal back there. but we fix it. now it flooded and foulded every plug, so i put bosch 2 in them. a week latter there all foulded out so i just put shorty plugs in it. when i give some gas it has black smoke coming out, and when it idels. we thought that it wasnt getting enough gas so we hooked it up and its getting 45 psi. i have no idea why it keeps fouling plugs out.

Black smoke usually means you are running super rich. Any codes?

Re: black smoke

ok, so i took the o2 sensor off, cleaned it on a wire wheel and blew it out with low air pressure. cleand up the plugs and checked my wires over. put them all back on. fired it up a little bit of white smoke but it dont smell like its runnin rich. backed it out of the shop and its still running fine.
