I am posting this thread for some help I have searched for possiable problems related to what I am having but do not seem to find any info. Recently I have had trouble with starting my camaro It's a 88 Iroc with 305 TBI automatic. I took it to the shop and they replaced the whole tank with new pump and sending unit, they also replaced the fuel filter. The whole system had rust and they also cleaned the lines down to the injectors. So car ran fine for a couple of weeks I was doing some minor fixes as it sat in my driveway, Batteryu ran down due to the notorious trunk hatch motor problems. I picked up a new hatch unit and cluster at a swap meet put the items on and it no longer would start. I checked down the throttle body and fuel is going in I am also getting good spark to the #1 spark plug. The car just turns over and over I have checked all the fuses under the dash and all seem good I do not think it is related to the fuel system maybe a sensor not allowing it to turn on? My shifter does not stay in park to well but even when I put it in neutral it does not turn on? Any suggestions on where to go from here? Really need help I have to get in running and registered home onwers assoc. is bugging about my car in driveway I do not want them to tow it and I have no place to put my car..

check your neutral safety switch had that problem with my old 88 firebird.

have you check ur VATS that might cause the motor tu turn but the ecm wont send pulse to injectors... also it my be the cluster you got is not like the one u had...u might thing what does the cluster has to do with the engine. Well i thought og the same thing but i found out that MY car wont start if the cluster is not installed i tried it different times..

 

Thanks to all that replied to my post. I have since changed the NSS with one I got off ebay that came with another shifter(USED) I have since gotten the car to start. It starts up and is running horriable. I have two codes that popped up code 15 and 54 I know what these codes mean I have to check the coolant temp sesnor the part is new but it is from autozone, should I change the thermostat? On the 54 code it says fuel pump circuit but what could cause this I had the who.le sustem done at a shop, would the code 15 set this off?
