HP on 1986 z28 305?

Hi I'm new here. First off I am sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section or whatever. Anyways, I'm 16 and I bought a 1986 Camaro z28 off craigslist the other day. Its a 305 engine. Sorry I dont know a whole hell of a lot about cars haha... But I have been researching and have found that the horse power on it is 190. Is this very good? It doesn't sound that great for a sports car.. but what do I know? Its an automatic transmission and from what I've read the standards have 215hp. Is this correct? anyways, thanks for helping out a dumb kid with his first car haha.

Welcome... well depending on whether you have a Carburetor or Fuel Injection you will have either 165 or 190 HP... these cars are known more for bottom end torque which makes them fun to drive...

Check the FAQ forum for a thread called "differences between 305's and performance improvement", or something to that effect.
