21lb injectors

My car needs a set of injectors, I was just wondering if I should upgrade to some 21lb injectors or just stick with the 19lb ones. My car is basically stock,3"cat back and cold air intake, maybe some headers later but thats it for now, until I up grade to my 383 which is gonna need some 30lb injectors anyway. My cars a 89 lb9. thanks for the help!

Why do you say it needs new injectors?

Factory TPI injectors were 19 lb and 22 lb. What are the 21's you're thinking of?

If the car is running okay, I'd say just wait until the 383 happens.

well after MUCH diagnosis, and MANY new parts, found out my injectors are going bad, the car runs lean when warmed up and surges at idle(only when warmed up) really bad, and dies sometimes. Its gonna be at least a year before I do the 383 so I wanna get it running good now.

also they are Accel 21lb injectors

Have you tried injector cleaner?

Those Accels should be okay. Might want to seach on them, though, seem to recall having seen threads involving problems with Accel injectors (here, and on the "Aftermarket Product" forum).

twice, I've replaced EVERYTHING(fuel pump, maf, tps, ICA, coil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, tps, fuel filter, 02 sensor, and ignition switch) I dont mind tho. The car has almost 190k on it and half the stuff was bad and the other have was on its original

Re: 21lb injectors

Did you do a warm ohm test on the injectors? Sounds like they are shorting out when warmed up.

It may run a little rich with those and no other changes. Do you have an AFPR? Might check with southbay or fic and see what they have, probably will cost less too.
