Any tips?

i have the motor apart pretty much all the valve covers off and the intake manifold and all the belts. I was wondering if their is anything i should do before i put everything back together. I painted the valve covers and intake manifold black with some high temp paint already and im doing the mounts and water pump and the motor black but i was wondering if their is anything i should do while the motor is already apart. Check anything replace anything let me know thanks!

Exactly what engine (year, size, induction type), and why did you take it apart?

Re: Any tips?

i put the push rod in today but it seems as though its sitting to high. The lifter is sitting higher though so im not sure if its the wrong push rod or its just the lifter sitting high. the lifter came out of an 87 305 caprice so i figured it was the same. Any suggestions?
