Fuel Pump Turns On but no fuel coming from tbi injectors?

So i can hear the fuel pump turning on when i first turn the key to accessories slot. there is no fuel coming from injectors however. i cant get my car to start. no spark and no fuel. why is there no fuel getting to the injector. what should i test. is there anything that would cause both spark and fuel to go out at the same time?

My GF has a 91 Camaro with a TBI motor and her distributor went out and caused this same thing. I'm not sure if it was the ignition module or the pickup but one of them went out. The computer uses this signal to fire the injectors.

You can put a noid light on the injectors just o make sure they arent firing.

this caused both fuel and spark to go out at same time? if so this could prob be my problem. so it could either be the pickup coil or ign mod?

Yeah it was one of the two. Fairly sure it was the ignition module. She wound up just putting in an MSD distributor so I dont 100% remember which was actually bad. It causes both to go out because the ignition module controls when the coil gets a signal. If the module goes out then it never signals the coil. This same signal goes to the PCM and tells the injectors when to fire.

ok, well heres the real question... is there anyway that welding on the floor without disconnecting the battery could have caused the ign module or pickup coil to go bad? cuz the car was starting and running fine and then i welded in new floor pans and didnt disconnect the battery and now it wont start.

I have heard it is possible. If all that amperage goes through it, it could kill it.

I would say that the chances are its the module. The pickup is possible, but its defiently more than likely the module.

That I'm not sure on. I just took the distributor out of my brothers truck (95 Silverado TBI) and put it in her car and it fired right up. That was my "test"

Re: Fuel Pump Turns On but no fuel coming from tbi injectors?

it was prob the crank positioning sensor. it tells the computer when to start firing the injectors. some blocks have like a knock sensor on the block passenger side. and some have it on the distributor wich is why when you switched the distributor it fired up. had that prob with the 350 tbi i put in my truck. if you pull your dist cap off it is a black plastic sensor that you actually plug the ecm wires. if you dump a little fuel manualy down the tb while turning it over it should pop a few times and eventually start firing. but that sensor sounds like ur prob.

The knock sensor is just that. It has nothing to do with crank position. It has nothing to do with the position of anything. The sensor in the distributor is a cam position sensor. The pickup in the distributor plugs into the ignition module. If the module is shot then the motor is not getting spark or fuel so pouring gas down the throttle body will do nothing.
