Small base circle cam questions

Small base circle cam questions
I just purchased a small base cirlce cam for my 383 build and was wondering if the fact that it is a small base circle cam, if it affects the way the camshaft performs. Are there any pros or cons going with a small base circle cam or is it just for clearance reasons?

i doesn't hurt performance. just check rocker arm geometry. the lifters will sit a little lower in the bores.
