Timing Gear installation. Need help!!!!
Well i just put a camshaft it and i am going to put no a new timing chain gear and from my understanding it should just be able to push on. Well its not going that way and was wondering of a way to install it without a tool. Would pounding it on with a pipe and hammer be bad????

best way to do it without the tool is to use the balancer bolt and a socket if you dont have one big enough put something soft on the end of the pipe
(ie rubber wood something to keep it from galling the gear) and use a deadblow hammer
P.S. most auto parts stores will loan you the tool

Well i made a tool to push it further on the crankshaft, but it seems to not be going. If we back the camshaft from the complete rear just a little out it lines up perfectly. Is that okay to have the camshaft backed up just a little?

"Just a little" can be a lot in terms of tolerances, especially in the cam and valvetrain. I know it sucks to have to run out to the parts store, but if I were you I would go and get the installer tool for the crank sprocket. May as well make it right and not have to worry about "what ifs".
Re: Timing Gear installation. Need help!!!!
The crank sprocket has to go on all the way until it bottoms on the front lip of the crank. look for any burs on the part of the crank snout it has to slide over. If you find one, carefully file it off and try again. Often they are a little tight anyway. An appropriately sized piece of pipe and some light hammer blows (or tapping around the edges of it with a big screwdriver and hammer) should get it to go on all the way.
Anything mroe than that and you've got to figure out what's holding it back and fix it.
Also- the crank pulley has to have the right side facing out. This should be obvious from the markings (which face towards the outside) but sometimes people miss little things like this.
