Runs great in open loop, but bad on closed.

I have an 1985 Camaro 2.8L, manual trans. Basically when it is first started, running in open-loop the car runs really well. As soon as it heats up and goes into closed-loop, it bogs and has hardly any pickup. I have changed the following parts so far: throttle position, O2 and MAF sensors, Ignition Coil and module, cap, rotor, EGR Valve. All vacume lines have been fixed of leaks. I checked for codes and got code 32, 42, and 45. Not sure where to start diagnosing this problem. Last time I brought it to the shop, the mechanic mentioned something about high pressure in the gas lines. Any help figuring this problem out would be much apreciated!

Thanks Joe

Get a manual and track down the trouble-shooting procedures for those codes. That's the first step.

What Jake said. If you cant find a good manual, and factory(Helms Publishing) is the only one I can recommend. Your local library will have All Data & Mitchell online. These resources are designed for professional techs with proper equipment and decent knowledge. If diag is beyond your scope you should get some literature on the subject and read up. Amazon has books on everything. Good luck

Re: Runs great in open loop, but bad on closed.

High fuel pressure points to a faulty fuel pressure regulator or restricted return line. Check fuel pressure with a 100 psi fuel pressure gauge. Should be 35psi at idle, 42psi on throttle snap. Just a place to start. Also, MAF and O2 sensors can be checked by disconntecting them. It forces the ECM into mem-cal so it ignores the disconntected sensor. If the engine runs well with sensor out of system, suspect that sensor. Perform test procedures in manual before replacing parts unless you have known good testers. Throwing parts at a problem is bad mojo.
