AFR 195 Eliminator Spring Pocket

Will these spring seats fit the AFR part# 1038's, or do I even need a spring seat/cup?

http://www.airflowresearch.com/produ...roducts_id=112

They originally came equipped with 1.29" outside diameter valve springs, and I will be installing some comp part# 950-16's that are 1.464". My battery on my dial caliper died but using the ruler part it looks like the spring pocket is right at 1.5". So it will be a real snug fit, is this too snug? The AFR spring seats linked above are 1.550".

Re: AFR 195 Eliminator Spring Pocket

It should work fine. AFR offers some spring packages with springs up in the 1.50" range and they're sitting in the same spring pockets as every other package they sell.

Whatever shims you are using to dial in the installed height go UNDER that hardened seat.
