350 heads?

ok im going to rebuild my 88 gta's 305 soon, ( has 238k ) i was wantig to get a little more oomph out of it but not looking to do a motor swap or anything. im just going with a basic rebuild, i will be putting an lt1 cam and bore it .30 over. well what i was wondering is if use 350 heads instead of my 305 heads if it would help any? have a friend that is gonna give me 350 heads off another 3rd gen tpi.

No. The 350 ports are cast the same size as the 305 ports. The 350 heads just have larger valves and combustion chambers.
Porting and reconditioning your 305 heads is the better option by far.
There is info about 305 head upgrades at the links in my signature.

Re: 350 heads?

well what would be the best way to get the most out of the 305 while keeping it tpi? i have my older brother that has the shop, tools and know how to rebuild a motor. i plan on having it tuned for whatever i do change on the motor as well. btw i did think about getting a 350 block since i already have the heads but i also read that id have to change the plenum, injectors, computer etc, or i would go that route
