Help! Leaking gas from fuel rail.

Im leaking gas from the passenger fuel rail toward the rear. Theres a threaded cap with a hole in it and when I start the car it sprays gas. Alot of gas. The thing that I cant figure out is why it doesnt happen every time. I took the cap off and theres an aluminum plug in there. I dont really know what to do. Any ideas??

At the end of the aluminum plug is a rubber o-ring that seals that end off, most likely the o-rings worn out and you have some gas getting by.

Theres an o-ring that the aluminum plug sits on. I cant really see it because the fuel rail is still on the car. Any chance that could be bad? Can a replacement be found? I dont wanna just booger it up. If the o ring was bad wouldnt it leak all the time? When it leaks its like a supersoaker but then ill start it up later and it will be dry as a bone. Seems unlikely to go from those extremes

Re: Help! Leaking gas from fuel rail.

I would depressurize the rail then check the o-ring and replace it if necessary, but I wouldn't use jbweld etc as if that doesn't work, then you've got a trashed fuel rail. I know because I tried jb weld after having a similar issue, although mine would ALWAYS leak fuel under pressure, and all i had to show for it was some jbwelded rail and an even higher pressure fuel leak...
