Went to a drift event, now the engine is....
Alright, so a week ago, I went drifting, with my stock 305... yeah I know, to say the least, I did have fun, isn't that what its about? So anyways the car went about 5 hours without a break, my very last run, I spun out and when I went for the gas pedal, the motor wasn't there to say the least, when I pressed the gas pedal, she just bogged down. I was able to drive home (90 miles) and I was able decide, its not a gear/tranny issue, its def ignition or fuel. On the way home, me and some friends stopped at a diner, when I went out to the car again, it had cooled down, and it ran perfectly fine, like perfect for like 5 miles, then it started bogging again. It hasn't done that since, it just boggs all the time now. Once the car is warmed up though its not too bad, I tried figuring this problem out and have no idea. I'm self taught in all aspects of automotive repair so I really can't say I have any ideas to this any help or quick checks I can do to pinpoint the problems. Thanks guys for all the help.

I would say to check the easy stuff first like the fuel filter, plug wires and vacuum lines.

anytime you drift a v8 or v6, i would suggest you overfill your oil by atleast half a quart to keep oil on both banks of the engine. i knew one guy who drifted an ls1 camaro and learned the hard way. also, invest in a small electric fan to help with cooling. put it on a switch to use when you drift since you wont be getting airflow straight to the radiator like you do in highway driving. like red said, start with the easy stuff, and work to the harder. check your timing too. good luck.

You know whats weird, I just went out, washed the car, started it, and it runs fine, so yeah I don't know whats up, I'll have to see if the problem comes back cause its been constant all week, to the point I felt uncomfortable driving it even 5 miles. But just took it for a drive and everything felt fine, this thing is a miracle car, just like my honda, it fixes itself lol.

My guess would be that the car was overheated pretty good. 5 hours of abuse, if most of that time was spent sideways and underload it didn't have time to cool down.
