89 camaro rs 305 v8

so i need to do a tune up and i need to know what type of spark plug wires cap and rotor are good and not too expensive


if those are ok and my wires look ok should I just replace the plugs for now will i be ok

Do the whole tune up - better to do a complete job with whatever parts you can afford than to do a 1/2 job with higher priced stuff - if you only do 1/2, maybe you end up doing the wrong half - there's alot can be wrong with plugs/wires/cap/rotor that you can't see.

There's nothing wrong (usually) with off the shelf Autozone/Advance stuff. Get new cap. rotor, plugs. wires.

On the plugs, there's really not much better than standard AC Delco plugs.

On the wires - take a volt/ohm meter and test the continuity of each new wire before you install - there should be very little to no resistance on each wire. I say this because I've bought (more than once) brand new wires with breaks in them - it's much easier to test out of the car, and it won't drive you crazy wondering what's wrong later because you "just replaced wires so it's not that" when it could very well be.

Plugs come pre-gapped (in theory), but always double check each one.
