Heads for a Strocker
I am in the process of trying to buy a 383 strocker to put in a 1986 Iroc. The only thing is the heads are bad on the motor, and i was to ld that heads of a 1992 Z28 305 TPI motor would work on the strocker motor. Is this correct, and if not can anyone give me advise on some other ones that could work or would be best? Thanks for all the help i appreciate it.

They're not ideal, and if your pistons aren't dished, they might not even work. Too much compression for pump gas , not enough flow for racing unless well-ported, and even then not really competitive. What are your goals, anyway?

I completely agree with Atilla. Those heads in stock form will smoother that engine. Big displacement engines like big runners which those 305 heads don't have. They would work fully ported but require a LOT of grinding, machining, and bigger valves; much more then most people will want to do.
What i would do is find out what heads are on the motor and what's wrong with them and go from there. The old heads may be good and serviceable.
