possible fuel pump going bad?
My new 385 has been surging at idle lately, I checked the fuel psi with a gauge(not running, I have a header off right now) and its jumping erratically 2-3 psi it also drops pressure almost immediately to 0. Does this sound like a fuel pump or a bad pressure regulator. I am currently running an inline booster pump and I do have an adjustable pressure regulator.

What about the fuel filter it will also cause surging if it has not been replaced in awhile an could possiblely burn out your pump eventually

Re: possible fuel pump going bad?
fuel filter has @ 200 miles and less than 3months on it. Just checked the vacuum line to the afpr and it does smell like gas. Even though it holds vacuum and does adjust the fuel pressure properly this means its definetly bad..right?
