1990 Pontiac Trans Am

Hi, i am new to this forum and could really use some help. I have a 1990 Pontiac Trans Am I bought a few years ago it only has 30k miles on it and is in damn near perfect shape. my problem is when i brought it out of storage this spring it would idle really rough then die. I have been able to keep it running by holding the RPMs a little above idle then if i let go it will die. I am not getting any trouble codes. Also when i have it running and my fan kicks on i notice a large amount of power reduction to the engine. Please guy i could use all the help i can get!

todays fuel can go bad in as little as 30 days thats where i would start. also could be sticky valves. take a fuel sample first if it looks any thing like urine get rid of it...

Even if i put Fuel Stabil in before storing? I am tending to think it may be something to do with my Electronics more than anything

Re: 1990 Pontiac Trans Am

did you run the car with stabil in the fuel? how long was the car in storage? was it inside and dry? im sure you know elictronics dont like being wet. if the fuel is good clean all the grounds you can find even if they look good. its been my experiance that most elictrical problem are grounding issues. good luck

Re: 1990 Pontiac Trans Am

It was stored for about 4 months (winter months). I dont believe i drove it with the Stabil in, but i am not positive. It was stored in a dry environment so i am not sure how moisture would have gotten into the electronics but the way it runs sure feels like an electronic problem. I actually called my local mechanic and i am taking it in on Thursday. i hate taking it to the mechanic but i just cant stand not being able to drive it. I will post as soon as i figure out what is going on. * is there anywhere i can post pictures of my car on this site?

Never mind i found where to post pictures. doh!
