Running rich how to diagnose open loop
My 92 Z runs good, from start up to hard throttle. I just put a 180 degree thermastat in because the gauge reads around 160 to 180 unless I'm in stop and go traffic. The previous stat had bypass holes put in by the P.O. I'm also getting terrible gas milage for a stock 305. The new stat did not warm up the temp and the car usually idles aroung 8 to 900 in gear, and smells rich when idleing. I do not have any diagnostic tools YET except for a volt ohms meter. Any ideas? Thanks Jim
