I pulled one of my heads and this is what I saw. I've never taken this engine apart and it was apparently built by the PO. Short story my intake valves were shorter then my exhaust valves, resulting in intake valves almost sitting level with the retainers. Which caused a horrible tick cause the rocker arms were digging into the top of the retainers rather than actually be pushing on the valve stem. Here's what it looks like. Anybody notice anything weird? By the way all of my intake valves are the shiny ones and those are the ones that are short.
