Miss with a/c on

Hi I just had my a/c recharged and now when I turn it on the car starts to hitch. Don,t really sound like a miss but more like your on and off the gas all the time. As soon as I switch off the a/c the car levels right out. I tried a new alternator but made no difference can anyone HELP.

Uneducated guess here but maybe your A\C compressor is seized a bit and is really slowing down your belt?

Check your vacuum lines. A leaking vacuum line will cause the RPM's to jump up and down.
