1991 RS 3.1L PROBLEM
1991 RS 3.1L PROBLEM
My timing jumped a while back, got the new timing set installed and more important installed with the crank and cam in the correct position. The PROBLEM is adjusting the timing off the distributor. I had to lossen the distributor and turn it to get it started and back home when the timing jumped. Now once i get the car started, by turning the distributor it runs like a champ. Once its running and at normal temp. I have set the distributor back to the correct timing. But after stopping and starting the engine a few times or sometimes just once, it wont turn over. I can then lossen and turn the distributor until it will start . But even if i leave the distributor in that postition it will do the same thing. I am going crazy. Any ideas or tips would be great.
Re: 1991 RS 3.1L PROBLEM
I figured it out for anyone who might come across this problem too. It was the ignition coil. It was working the first time we tested it but after a month of sitting and messing with other part it went bad. its great to have the car running again.
