open filter or carb hat with cone filters

I was just wondering today if it would be of any benifit to swap to a carb hat with two inlets and two cone filters over the drop base open air filter I have now. I could run the air filters under the battery trays on each side easily. I know the filter I have now is just sucking in hot air but wasnt sure how much heat the pipes would soak up if running two inlet pipes to a hat. Basically, would heat soak into the aluminum inlet tubes cancel out any gains over the colder air from this setup?
