How can I check to see if my fuel pump is working. Car turns over but will not start. Check engine light is also on car has been sitting a long time.

 

check fuel pressure and make sure the pump is getting power.

 

What year? What induction? What motor?

Have someone turn the key to on while you are under rear with ear against tank - you should hear the pump "prime" for about 2 seconds. If it does not, then I'd look into the fuel pump relay, try changing it out.

id even have them prime but they weren't up the to the pressure it should have been. just get a fuel pressure gauge and go from there.
