That is the MAP sensor. You can just bolt the engine to the stand using the bolt holes from the bellhousing.

MAP = Manifold Absolute Pressure, the sensor sends out a voltage signal dependent on the absolute manifold pressure (manifold vacuum is actually pressure lower than atmospheric, hence absolute pressure)

Bellhousing bolts are fine, use grade 8 bolts

so hooking it up to another vaccume port is still alright? whats the best choice for that.

Full manifold vac port, straight on the plenum and used solely for the MAP. No T-ed off connection.

these look like the right bolts?? ive never bolted a engine to a stand before and it just seems a lil sketchy.

Re: what is this?(pic) and where to bolt engine to stand

Grade 8 bolts have 6 marks on teh top of the head of hte bolt - Grade 8 are the strongest you can get unless you get specialty stuff (think ARP). Grade 8 is more than strong enough to hold up a block. Thats the size of the bolt that holds the transmission to the engine, so dont stress too much over it. Just make sure it's long enough to thread in a good ways and that they're the right size, but most importantly make sure it's Grade 8.

Grade 8 bolt:

From the picture of yours, they seem like they're Grade 5 (they have 3 marks instead of 6), they'd probably work, but I'd go get some nice Grade 8 bolts from the hardware store if it were me.
