]Okay I have 89 iroc z-28 with a built 350 and turbo 350 with a reverse valve body. Im a girl and I my boyfriend doesnt want to teach me how to drive it with the reverse valve
So I am looking for a different tranny That shifts normally but wont turn it into a grandma... Anyone have any advice?

get a reverse Valve Body shifter to help you out (installed)
it will be less money/then a new tranny.

Hmmm - it's YOUR car, right. Maybe he's not teaching you because he doesn't know how (I wouldn't know how either, but I'd love to learn!). Keep the car, keep the transmission, go to the local dragway and find a guy (or girl) that will teach the both of you how to drive it!

Yes reverse, isnt that what I said? UUggghhh! Im so effin frustrated right now! It already has that damn shifter in it. He is adiment that we find a new tranny. Soooo... I am looking for one! I asked him what I should be looking for specifically, he tells me a 700r4 for a v8. But there has to be more than one option for a tranny, right? or cant we do somethin with what weve got?

He sounds like a Dink who is just jelous, if you insist on going back to a normal pattern, its easier n cheaper to just put in a regular valve body, but its not rocket science to learn how to shift it, the D 2 1 gearing is just backwards, so when racing, you can go into N R or P by accident.

Maybe you should have figured out how to drive the thing before you bought it?Who know's maybe she's the one that is the "dink", could be the bf is preventing her from wrecking the car. Lol stereotypes exist for a reason.
I'd never trust my gf in anything more than a 4 cyl. >_> Few girls can handle the power or complicated mechanics of some stuff lol!

My wife drives the hell out of a 1997 Z28 LT1! She's 41, and she has no problem stomping some 17 year old rice_r into the ground !

So, it's just an automatic but it goes P 1 2 D OD N and R at the bottom instead of P R N OD D 2 1 at the bottom?

The most common RPVB shift pattern for a TH350 should go P-R-N-1-2-3, and typically IS full manual as well. I find the novelty wears off quickly, then it's annoying.
I suggest the BEST solution is to convert back to a 700R-4. You'll love the deeper first gear, you'll love the overdrive, and you'll love the lockup torque converter.

Id bet if someone built it, and did the R-VB they changed first gear and added the 5th clutch plate.

valarieadair a piece of tape and a marker can be laied down near the shifter to help clue you in till you get the hang of it.

Those low-ratio gear sets aren't all that popular, and I doubt the OP has the lower ratios. They add about $500 to the cost, because GM didn't make them.

, only cost me $1150 to have a TH350 built n shipped from AZ to Ohio with all the speed goodies except for the R-VB. [why AZ, I wanted it built by somone I know and trust.]

It's just the opposite of a regular valve body, that's what I was told once.
So I imagine instead of P-R-N-D-D-2-1 it'd be 1-2-D-D-N-R-P.
I know a lot of guys who are into drag racing think those come in handy, since it's a little bit easier to pull back to the next gear, instead of try to inch the shifter forward without slipping and hitting the next gear after that.

Next year when I finish saving up for my ZX-14 in cash, would also like to see what you are bringing to the table. Lol blowing up on people only shows how immature you are.
Also what do you mean by built? That is such a thrown around and vague term anymore. How do you know the engine is built, but can't figure out how to use the transmission?
How did it get to your house? Why didn't/don't you ask the PO?

Yes I do drive a 4 cylinder, it is called a CBR 1000, and it will spank your car without a doubt. At least I know how to drive MY camaro.
