Re: Help please im new to this
I would change the oil and trans fluid. Other than that I would just look it over for cracking hoses and leaks.

Re: Help please im new to this
my car sat for 6 months before i bought it but thats really besides the point these cars are old lol....vacuum lines,tune-up (all fluids), dont run her hard for a while if gaskets have had a chance to dry out they are real easy to blow. on that oil change no matter what oil you use (i would not recommend synth right away it seems to be thinner so it will leak where reg oil wont.....thats from my exp anyway....i would definately drop some lucas oil stabilizer too for good measure.

any other details bout your new ride???pics??
BTW welcome to TGO

Re: Help please im new to this
drop the thermostat to a 180* eliminate the coolant to your IAC
install a K&N style filter. if it does not have one already.
you will get more fuel mileage and lil power. I would also make one fan always on. find someone local that can tune some of your settings just a little bit.
and the normal tune up parts after a though inspection
congrats welcome the f Body club

Re: Help please im new to this
engine bay looks pretty cleaned up already.as long as nothing major goes wrong i say you got a pretty dam good deal. it looks good too....thats always a plus.

if you can find the RPO codes check out the decoder on this site it will tell you things you might not know yet.......which brings me to if you happen to find or have gotten factory papers with the car of ANY kind hold on to them lol...i was fortunate to have the dealer invoice but no pricing

The RPO Codes are either on a decal stuck to the bottom of the center console lid...Under the carpet somewhere (around the seats more than in the rear hatch area).....Or (more commonly) non-existent. The assembly line employees commonly tossed them in the trash or just inside the car (where it was later trashed during detailing) somewhere.

Commonly called the SPID sheet. S(ervice)P(arts)I(dentification)D(ecal)
It looks like this one. And it'll have your cars VIN # on it. Of course, some of your numbers & letters will be different than on this one:

Looks like a pretty clean ride. Just need AC now, huh? Congrats!

Re: Help please im new to this
how did you verify it was a 305?

Given that the "350 trick" is the oldest in the selling a F-body book though.
