I have an odd problem. I've searched on here for while and can't really find anything.

My car, 86 TA, 305 4bbl Qjet, the tach bounces. It will do it at idle and going down the road and it won't do it everytime. It does it in cold weather and warm weather.

I rebuilt my engine two years ago (went back stock) and it was doing that before I rebuilt it and then the problem disappeared. After I rebuilt it, the problem still didn't show up so I figured it was just one of those things.

Wellllll, it's doing it again. Has been for a few months and I can't figure it out. It's it now just pretty annoying.

As Im watching the tach bounce it will bounce between 1000 rpm and 3000 rpm. Sometimes I can feel it in the engine, sometimes I can't. BUT, it doesn't rev up to 3000 rpm, infact, it doesn't rev at all. The engine feels like it's cutting out (sometimes pretty hard).

I'm trying to figure it out before I break something... Can anyone help?
