code 32 help

I am getting a code 32 and experience an unsteady idle after the car has warmed up and stopped in drive with the my foot on the pedal. It almost wants to bog down on me, then picks back up. I know code 32 means EGR problems, but I was wondering if it was the true cause of my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: code 32 help

Probably not, code 32 is GM's way of putting satan into the obdI system, its a good start tho, is your motor modded at all? I know birdtojag's firebird bogs like that at idle while stopped but that's from his cam and he's got some $ in it, any other odd behaviors from it?

Re: code 32 help

There is no other odd behavior that I know of. The only performance mods are K&N air filters and a hypertech chip, both were added by the previous owner. I have owned the car since 2004 and it has only started this problem in the last 4 months.

Re: code 32 help

when you say unsteady idle what do you mean? like its shaking? the idle is dropping rapidly and trying to revive itself?

Re: code 32 help

What I should have said is that sounds almost like it is going to bog down, the tach drops down, then it jumps back up to normal idle speed. It will do this every 5 or 6 seconds. I took the vacuum line off of the egr valve and the idle is much smoother now, but it still acts like it wants to hesitate every now and then when in drive after warmed up and sitting still. The tach still drops and picks back up when it hesitates. I really appreciate your help. This is the only issue I have ever had with the car.

Re: code 32 help

ive had the same issue with my RS, not sure why it does it but code 32 just kinda pops up at random times for me, but the idle thing is sporadic and normally when its cold, theres gotta be somebody on here that has found a solution but i just said screw it and started building my next motor, i just chalked it up to age of the car
