Black canister leaking fuel?

Today i got my fuel tank installed after changing the fuel pump and strainer, i got my lines hooked up and put gas in the tank and started letting the pump prime so i could get gas through my lines then started cranking my engine over, i started to smell gas so i checked the lines and no leaks there but when i got to the front of the engine bay, the Black canister on the driver side up near the headlights is leaking gas, so is there a solution to this or did i mess up my fuel lines? because i put new rubber lines in insted of the original lines since they werent there when i bought the car so any help is helpfull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Black canister leaking fuel?

ya, i unhooked all the lines and the plug on the canister, and i keep the gas cap loose. problem with it is, the gas fumes are strong when i shut the car off. . i didnt have any trouble with the canister until i had the fuel pump changed.
