title: Chevy 350 Aluminum Intake Manifold - $40
post: Factory GM intake manifold from a Corvette. It is smog legal with egr valve. Ran it on my 1980 Rs Camaro it should fit Chevrolet 305 or 350 engines.
i plan on putting in a 350 in the next couple of months and was wondering if this was a good buy or not? pics:

It would not be any different than the one you've got. This guy's got one that's probably a tick better https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...700-trans.html
Good price, too. . .

The intake you list will only take a Q-Jet ( without a adapter plate)
five7kid's ZZ4 intake will take a Holley as well ; more carb choices for future

$240 new

Not at the moment. It's still on the engine but with the carb off. I'll try to get a shot of it for you. It will fit all '86-earlier SBC mount pattern heads. '87 later would require modifying the center two intake mount bolt holes on each side. It won't fit Vortec heads.

Sorry, shipping is getting pretty pricey these days. Just shipped out a part that I thought would run $25, it turned out to be $54.
Would you sell a part that goes for $235 new for $25?
Even the comparable Edelbrock 3701 would run you $180 from Summit (with their order fee, which covers shipping).

think this intake is a good buy?
from a Corvette
It's GARBAGE. The same garbage that it would have been if the same casting # was wrapped in steel instead of fiberglass. Very possibly, the same garbage, BY PART NUMBER, that you already have.
That's the oldest sucker line in the book. (well, that anybody still remembers, anyway; no doubt there were sucker lines before Vettes came out, they just all don't work as good as the Vette one any more) Anybody that doesn't already own a Vette (sucker by definition) deserves to be fleeced if s/he falls for that one.
Leave it to the "greater fool". Keep your money in your pocket.
A ZZ4 take-off or a Performer (same thing, these days) is at least as good if not better, and you won't have to clean it up just to use it, like that other thing.

if it gets me the intake for 50 shipped then yes. yes i would
In what universe would that be a "good deal"?
What's the casting #? If you don't know that, then you're just another sucker falling for the "from a Vette" crap, and you deserve to give your money away to a rip-off that's cleaning the scrap metal out of his garage.
