ok so here is the rundown. please ask questions as you see necessary just looking to diagnose at this point.

picked up an 85 firebird from a relative that hadnt run in about 5 years. towed it home, put in a new batery, replaced the starter and cranked it. tried a few more times and finally got it running but the alternator pulley was frozen. went and got a new alt. installed and it then wouldnt start again. i figured maybe some gook coulda clogged the carb up. i rebuilt the carb, and still wouldnt start. i wasnt getting spark so i rebuilt the distributor and cleaned and regapped the plugs. new cap rotor coil and accel module and wires. now im getting spark but still wont start. set it to tdc, or so i thought. im thinking about maybe swaping out the carb and a vac advance unit but if i dont have to spend hat much money i dont want to. the only thing i can figure is that the the carb is causing the issues but when i do try to start it we get bad sparks andbackfires form the carb...
