Is my EGR messed up? If so, remove or replace?
I don't feel any vacuum what-so-ever between the egr and the egr solenoid. As a test, I unplugged the egr solenoid, removed all of the vacuum tubes and plugged the vacuum hole on the TBI. It didn't throw a code or run any different or anything. (idle seemed a tad lower than normal, but that's it.)
Does that mean the egr is busted? If so, should I replace it or remove it? Basically, what are the pros and cons of a new, working egr, and what are the pros and cons of having no egr?
As a note, the egr is the only emissions component left on my car, I've removed all my emissions equipment including my cat. As my favorite thing to do to my car is remove excess crap from the engine bay, getting rid of the egr would be awesome for me, I just don't know the pros and cons of such a task.
Thanks for any info!
