What is your 60ft time? Your mph at the end of the quarter? And what gear and rpm are you crossing the 1/4 mile at. And what is your cars redline rpm?

This information will help see if you have the car geared to much.

Re: why is my 383 a dog

Can you post flow numbers for your heads?

That motor should be screaming. Only thing that jumps out at me is the cam seeming very big. But that option is from someone who runs a hyd roller so my durations are much shorter. I have a holley 750 DP on mine. Should be similar to your demon. Also sounds like it could be an intake leak. I would run a full gamot of tests on the motor, pessure, bleed down, intake leak, etc... make sure what you got is working as it should.

I'd ditch the Victor Jr. Intake and get a Super Victor. Also, what's your ignition timing?

Re: why is my 383 a dog

Also what is the weight of the car? Is this through mufflers? What exhaust system are you running? When you race, do you lock down your timing? How is your traction off the line(This can be the same question as what are your 60ft times)? Any missing or back firing? Sounds like too much cam also. I have one of those cams very similar to yours and have lousy off the line or out of the hole torque. Which I guess these cams are designed for more top end HP. Had to switch to a 4500 stall converter.
