Puff of smoke at startup

My 86 Iroc Camaro 305 TPI puts out a puff or cloud of oil smoke when I start it up after it sets for a while. It never smokes any other time or when I accelerate hard. The car only has 75,000 miles on it, and has done it since it had 50,000 on it. I speculate valve seals may be bad or cracked. Any other ideas?

i agree on the valve seals . but , it may just be a sludge build-up in the heads . if the drain holes on the lower front & rear of the cylinder head get sludged up all oil will not fully drain back into crankcase . i have seen this happen many times . a car that has been stored and just started a couple of times a month is a good candidate for this . remove valve covers and check . use a stiff wire to loosen sludge & blow out with compressed air . has worked for me . good luck .
