Anyone with an improper cam install
A buddy put my engine together.
He put the cam in wrong. He lined up the wrong dot on the crank sprocket.
But before I found this problem, the intake valves were hitting the pistons, just the intake valves. I actually broke one valve in the combustion chamber.
Now I am really scared that the other valves might be bent.
Anyone have a similar situation?

Re: Anyone with an improper cam install
Saw a thread on here a while back where this happened to a 427, looked pretty nasty and the valves were barely kissing the top of the pistons.
Gotta remember that 10 camshaft degrees (ie, off by one tooth) is 20 crank degrees... No wonder it hits the top of the piston.
You don't really have a choice but to tear it down

You probably didn't bend the exhaust valves, but the heads do have to be removed.
