Re: swap in 5spd?

Well I'm not going to say this is 100% correct on all the years i'm giving but it'll give you all the things to search for. Any of the 5-speed trannies will work. From 83-88 you have the non-world class series and 89+ you have the world class series. World class are a little better sycros and such. The only other thing to look for it the VSS or speedo. Older ones will have a mechinical speedometer. Then 88-90 are one type of VSS and 91-92 are a different type. So if you want your speedo to work you want a 91-92 tranny or you can find the sensor to change out in the tranny.

So in other words any will work just depends on world class vs non world class and then the speedo stuff.

I'm pretty sure you also need the computer from the 5 speed car. I don't know exactly how they do it, but I would grab a 305/T-5 computer that has all the same gauges as your car and is a 91-92 also, then get your chip tuned for the motor after it's all together and running.
