Help a newb make more HP in a 305 '88 TA
I have an '88 Trans Am w/ a 305 TBI V8 and about 105k miles. It runs great, but I want to make a little more power -- especially at lower RPMs. I've been working on cars for a long time, but I have very little experience w/ performance parts.
I already have a HyperTech computer chip and a K&N air filter, so where should I go next? I'm guessing intake, but I don't know much about what's available or would work well.

if you haven't yet, exhaust is a great place to start. cat back first, headers would be good too. best place to start as it will be necessary to get the most out of any changes going forward.

You can get some short headers which will give you good power gains in the low RPM range, and in addition to that, get bigger pipes. I would suggest 2 1/2 inch pipes. You'll get better exhaust flow, but not too much that you lose power.
I made the mistake of trying to buy an intake as my first upgrade, ended up buying a cam kit from COMP Cams. It's still sitting in the box 2 years later.
