oil fouled plugs
I'm oil fouling plugs 2,4 and 8(all passenger side, but #6 was clean)....Plugs 1,3,5and 7 are like new(all drivers side) The engine is brand new with like 600 miles on it. The car doesnt really smoke while driving but smokes like crazy after it is at ideal for over 2 mins. I was haviing an issue with oil being pulled into my intake via the PCV system but since then I had an inline oil seperator installed on the PCV, then i even eliminated the PCV system to make sure it wasnt that. So I'm planning on doing a leak down test to make sure the oil rings are good, I already did a compression test all cam back betwenn 194-201. If the leak down test comes back good im starting to think the lower intake is leaking oil betwenn the valley and passenger head? The haigher vacuum at ideal pulling it then making it smoke at ideal? any ideas????

Sounds like its sucking oil from the intake gasket, but its hard to say because of the fact it isnt smoking, Do a leakdown test to make sure you arnt loosing ring seal, and maybe pop off a valve cover to make you it hasnt destroyed any valve seals. Past that I would say its pulling oil from the lifter valley.

thanks 1986, I'm just going to drive it and put a little more milage on with the PCV disconnected..This way I can pull the lid of the Super Ram and make sure im not getting anymore oil up there. I still have to order a leak down gauge, but i'm leaning towards thinking the lower intake is pulling oil but I will def look under the valve covers to check the valve stem seals. Looks like we have a similar setup..whats urs running any ETs?

Re: oil fouled plugs
ok, so i pulled the lower intake. The intake gaskets looked good and my engine builder used a mic to measure the compression of the gaskets. .060 along the tops of both gaskets and .054-.056 on the bottom if both gaskets. I looked down the runners in my cylinder heads and I could see oil pooling on top of my clsed valves on cylinder 4 and 8. So it cant be bad rings, the oil would never pool on top of valves from rings. It also cant be pulling from the pcv system because I had it disconnected and still lost 1/3 quart in 60 miles. So I was leaning towards the intake gaskets but they look really good. So the only other place it could leak oil from the valves down would be the head. The valve guides or valve stem seals??? I pulled the head and I'm bring it back to my engine builder..this engine only has 600 miles on it...what do u guys think???
