Hello,

I'm trying to find help with a problem I'm having.
I have an 88 IROC-Z TPI 305 700R4 trans.
The problem I'm having is not consistant enough to say it is one thing or the
other, maybe someone has ran into it before to help narrow the field
of possibilities down.

The car will run perfect at times and horrrrrible other times. The check
engine light does display on and off (on sometimes off others) never flashing. Most times when the light comes on the car acts like it will not take fuel. As I push the gas pedal down, the car bogs and slows. As I lift off the gas, just before my foot comes off the pedal it will surge for a split second. If you put your foot back on the gas pedal, it bogs again.
Sometimes I get a surging at idle (not frequent)
Sometimes the light comes on but bogging does not occur. (not frequent)

When I check the engine codes, I get 33 and 34
which list MAF/VAF or MAP I don't have a MAP.
I've replaced the mass air flow sensor and the computer neither had any affect.
I've also dug into the wiring schematics a bit and replaced both relays for the MAF.
I've eliminated fuel pump and filter (it runs fantastic when the light is off most of the time)
fuel pressure regulator (same reason)
I've checked for vacuum leaks, nothing there.
Coolant temp sensor was replaced recently when a cooling issue was dealt with, so it shouldn't be a prob.
Egr didn't respond to vacuum leak test .. so i'm edging away from it .. but not positive.
Air charge sensor is still a question. I have not replaced it yet.
O2 sensor is still a question too.
I've also thought that the knock sensor might be possible, but again, not sure.


Temp seems to have no affect, the check engine light can come on any time hot or cold and the car runs bad.
Moisture/humidity does not seem to have any affect either.

I've listed everything here I think would be relevant. If anyone can help, that would be awesome, and appreciated.
