no cold start
no cold start
Alright guys got a little progress with the car but still need help. Its an 88 camaro with the 2.8l v6 now when i bought the car it ran terribly and would not idle. I have replaced the plugs and wires as well as a ne distirbutor cap and rotar and a new MAF sensor. the car has improved greatly and runs pretty nice. the only problem i still have is when i go to start the car in the morning all it does is crank. a little easy start in the intake and it starts right up and has no problems for the rest of the day. any ideas? the car did sit for quite a while.

test the fuel pump relay if it's not providing power to the fuel pump it will crank until the fuel pump switch (closes with oil pressure) bypasses the relay.
Re: no cold start
i dont think it is fuel related it ran all last week with no problem then all of a sudden today wont start at all. dont want to spray any mopre easy start into but i do hear the fuel pump making engaging when i turn the key. i have very limited knowledge and am just learning but it doesnt seem like a feul problem. im stuck at work tonight but im just trying to accumulate a couple different ideas to try tomorrow.

If it doesn't start on it's own and all you do is add fuel then it is in general a fuel related problem.
You described it a cold start problem. For this to be true it would have to fail to start when the engine is allowed to cool off, but it seems that it only happens after an over-night shutdown, can you elaborate?

Re: no cold start
alright i had a little help today and it seems im starting to figure a couple things out. first off the car is running again and ran all day today with no issues. i tried to run the codes with a scanner today and when i hooked it up the car started running bad and would produce any data i checked the computer and it was warm to the touch. but i did the paperclip trick and i pulled a 22 and a 44 so i know this may be my o2 sensor and possibly and bad computer?
