Need Houston business for vats or car alarm

I need to do a vats bypass tonight. Do you know any place in Houston where I can buy one? Or I have heard that some aftermarket alarms have the bypass built in. Re ommend one?

I am at work and have limited google time.

Thanks!

Re: Need Houston business for vats or car alarm

One thing - I hate my iPhone.

I tried the resister thing - the vats itself is out. Don't want to tear out dash. Would like kind that wires into ECM

Thanks for the reply

If the VATS module is out, it'll have to be removed, replaced, or replaced for anything to work, including the bypass method I showed.

Re: Need Houston business for vats or car alarm

I was under the impression that the bypass that wires to the ECM completely bypasses the vats module. Just sends correct data directly to ECM.

Re: Need Houston business for vats or car alarm

Nope. The bypass method is just a way to trick the VATS module into thinking that a VATS equipped key is being inserted into the ignition. That way you can get a $2 regular key cut anywhere, instead of buying a $25 chipped key.

It won't help you any, if your VATS module has actually gone out.

Re: Need Houston business for vats or car alarm

Well, I have a good key, ign lock, and vats. Was trying to avoid changing the vats by wiring the bypass at the ECM. The location of the vats is not pretty

Re: Need Houston business for vats or car alarm

Not sure what you were trying to say there. In Post #3 you said VATS was out, in Post #7 you say VATS is good. If you tried te bypass, are you sure you tried te right resistor value?

The bypass I showed is at the steering column & under the dash. No need to really remove anything.

Re: Need Houston business for vats or car alarm

Interesting. Never heard of that & no idea how it would even work on neither a working on non-working VATS module.

Try it & see, I guess.....

Re: Need Houston business for vats or car alarm

Looking for one.

Supposed to do away with need for vats as it connects to ECM at the ECM

Moates.net Buy the chip adapter with the chip and I'll reburn your stock programming with Vats delete

Thanks for the offer. I'd really rather go that way but needed the car quick and I really need a custom burn bad. Had to get people to ride me to work.

I still need a custom chip burned as the overlap in my cam is causing the ecm to fight it at idle. Runs great off idle. I have some World Racing 64cc/.202s to put on it before I get a chip burned.

Thanks again.

BTW - sweet twin turbo.

Car finished and running good.

I have been looking at moates.net and I think I'll have to look into buying some burning stuff.
