High RPM hesitation
I was at the track on saturday to make a bunch of runs after new dart heads and fixing a few ignition probs I had from last time at the track. From 5000 to 6300, there was a definate hesitation going on. My best time was 12.06 @ 113 1.8 60' and .26 reaction time. Heres what I got: Dart pro1 200cc heads, 10.7:1 compression, comp roller cam 242/248 .54/.56 110 lsa, crane gold roller rockers, hardened pushrods, air gap intake, 750 cfm 4150hp holley carb with 78/87 jets, msd 6al2 box, 8mm wires, timing at 38 degrees. I still run the hei dizzy, but replaced the cap/rotor/coil a couple of months ago along with the wires(that was my problem last time). Is the stock coil capable of handling the msd box properly causing an intermittant miss. Another though I have is valve float. I currently have the lash set at a 1/4 turn, would an 1/8 turn be better. I also know I am running a bit rich because I do see some black smoke when I floor it. I am just looking for some suggestions on the cause.

Re: High RPM hesitation
What do you have for springs? and I'd get the richness taken care of before spending $ on anything else.

Re: High RPM hesitation
They are like 130# or so rated and doubles. Not sure about exact specs, can get those later, but I do know they are good to 600 lift.
