Car wont stay running?
Car wont stay running?
I just bought my camaro and the next day i took it through an oversized puddle(flooded street)... engine stalled so pushed it out had it towed home. i pulled plugs and handcranked it pushing the water out. came out of 2 cyl maybe 3. replaced plugs and changed the oil, rest of water came out. it originally would crank but not start. battery dead ok so replaced battery. it now starts but wont stay running. i changed the fuel filter, maybe filter flooded with water. no luck. i checked the MAF sensor it was covered in white crusty stuff. smelled like chlorine. washed it all off put it back on runs for like 2 more seconds then dies. water def got in my exhaust pipes so i disconnected exhaust from cat and its still same.. water comes out back but not out the cat. any ideas as what this could be? ive tried all i can think of so im open to any suggestions! Thanks this is an lt1

Disconnect the MAF and let her run on MAP tables. If it stays running, you have a bad MAF. When it starts, see if feathering the throttle lightly helps it stay alive. Once you do get it running again, clean her out with some sea foam. Any codes thrown btw? Opti-sparks HATE water with a passion.

I know Opti spark hates water, but its been a week shouldnt it have dried out by now? i havent had a chance to check codes, towing is expensive here and idk anyone with an obd2 scanner. should i just get one myself?

What year of ECM are you running?? I'd ditch the OBD2 one if you have it and get the OBD1 (1.5). And once the opti gets wet, it's game over. Even if it drys.
