What is making that sound?
I have a 1986 Berlinetta. She's got a 350 4 bolt main 4bbl in her with the Turbo 350. I just did an oil change on her, and now there is this tick noise from under the valve covers. I used Mobil 1 5w-30, and a Tough Guard filter. I thought it was the lifters, or valves, but I've had several people tell me it wasn't either. Someone told me that she could have a leak in the valve cover seal and that I should try axle grease on the seals, and tighten them down a little more. I did that, and the car still runs at about 40 psi at idle. The noise doesn't go away at higher rpms. Before ripping the whole thing apart, I just wanted to know if anyone knows what it is, and what I can do to make her stop. Oh, she's got .465 lifters and cams. Thanks.
