I recently picked up an 89 Formula with the 305 TBI and it started acting a little funny. Sometimes when im driving short distances it starts sputtering and the RPMs fluctuate and it stalls then starts right back up, sometimes when im driving on the freeway after some stop and go the temp goes up to about 200 and it starts doing the same thing. It always starts back up but im still trying to figure out what the issue is. Any help would be much appreciated

 

You might want to check the computer and see if there are any codes stored in it.
Go to a autozone or pep boys or the like and have them try to pull the codes for it.
And see what if anything is going on first.

 

its not throwing any codes, it was popping an o2 sensor code but its not doing it any more
