350 TPI issuese
Ok my 87 iroc is having a starting issue,
I had no running issues or starting problems on saturday and i toped it off with gas, today, "moday" the car will crank over but not start. Fuel pump kicks on and giving a good fair amount of pressure, the coil on the other hand was not throwing any sparks. so i went out and bought a new coil and low and behold, no start. im not getting any spark to the engine at all.
there is some wires going to the distributer cap off the coil, Pink and white, my only other suggestion is to replace the distributer assembly. any ideas would be greatly helpful, before i forget im not sure its vats, only because there is no security light going on, and there is no Check engine light too. i could be wrong but im putting that up there anyways.

Your check engine light should come on momentarily to show it is functional. If not, either the light is bad, or the ECM is bad. I doubt it would be a faulty VATS, it wouldn't allow your starter to function. ECM failures are rare. I came across this only one time before and caught it when I noticed that the check engine light didn't come on when I turned the key. I would take a voltmeter and start probing to see if ECM controlled components are getting the +5V reference voltage. TPS and MAP would be excellent ones to start with.

Update:
I found out what was wrong, i looked around in the forums for no spark/ignition, came out to be a bad ignition controle module.
I took appart the cluster to replace the bulb for the check engine light, i went ahead and Jumped A/B on the OBD port, and it started to throw 33,34 and 36 codes. it pointed to map/maf. but will both usually fail at the same time or would the maf cause the map to throw a code too?
